Holds a PhD in Sociology and Anthropology from the Complutense University of Madrid, with a dissertation entitled “Society and time. (Alter)modern temporal intensities”, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Alicante. He also completed the Master’s programme in Dynamics of Change in Advanced Modern Societies at the Public University of Navarre. He is currently an Assistant Lecturer (Profesor Ayudante Doctor) in the Department of Sociology I at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Alicante and a member of several research groups, including AEDIFICATIO, the Sociological Research Group of the University of Alicante (GIS-UA), the Sociological Observatory of Education (OBSOEDU) and the Contemporary Sociocultural Studies Group (GRESCO) at the Complutense University of Madrid.
His main line of research explores the relationship between society and time within the field of the sociology of time, which he connects with studies on health, education, lifestyles, time use, digitalisation and citizen participation. He has taken part in research projects on urban planning, health, tourism, migration, gender, education and social media, and has authored and co-authored books, articles, book chapters and conference papers in national and international venues. He collaborates with different editorial and academic bodies, including the editorial team of the Revista de Sociología de la Educación (RASE) and advisory or governing boards of sociological associations and doctoral programmes.
