On Wednesday 4 June 2025, Fernanda Wanderley, Universidad Católica Boliviana (UCB, Bolivia) and Ana Viñas, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM, Spain), participated in the Conference on labour market and gender biases: "Breaking barriers: Equal Opportunities and Social Roles of Women", organised by the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) in Madrid.

During the event, Fernanda Wanderley presented the paper ‘Persistent gaps: informality and structural challenges of women's labour insertion in Latin America’, co-authored with Arleth Lafuente, research assistant at the Institute of Socio-Economic Research (IISEC) of the Catholic University of Bolivia (UCB). The presentation addressed how the sexual division of labour, informality, wage gaps and glass ceilings continue to limit the full exercise of women's labour rights in the region.

This activity was beginning of her research stay within the framework of the INSEAI project, funded by the Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchanges program, led by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM, Spain).
