vpero@ie.ufrj.brAssociate professor at the Institute of Economics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IE-UFRJ), where she teaches courses in Microeconomic Theory and Socioeconomic Development at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from IE-UFRJ in 2002. She has held international academic positions, including as a visiting professor in the Chair Program of the Institute of Latin American Studies (IHEAL) at Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3, a visiting scholar at Université Paris-Dauphine during the 2019 academic year, and a visiting researcher at the French Institute of Sustainable Development (IRD) in 2024. She is a senior researcher at the Center for Studies on Inequality and Development (CEDE – UFRJ/UFF) and participates in international research projects funded by the European Commission and the IRD. Her research and publications focus on labor economics and socioeconomic development, particularly on inequality, labor markets and informality, social and urban mobility, poverty, and the evaluation of social policies.
