She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Madrid (1996) and a Ph.D. from the same university (2001).
During the early stages of her pre-doctoral studies, she conducted research in the fields of the economics of innovation and economic growth, as well as regional technology policies. Notable among her pre-doctoral work was her participation in two research projects funded by the European Commission, as well as the publication of the results of this research in the form of articles and book chapters in prestigious journals and publications.
After defending her doctoral thesis, she entered the workforce, first as the director of a technology dissemination center for the Community of Madrid and, in 2005, as an economist with the Research Department of the UGT Trade Union, a move that marked her specialization in the area of the labor market and employment policies.
At the same time, in 2004, she joined the European University of Madrid as an adjunct professor, continuing her teaching work at this university until 2021. Since 2016, she has also collaborated with other universities, where she teaches graduate-level courses.
During this period, she participated in a project under the State Program for Research, Development, and Innovation Focused on Societal Challenges, presented at international conferences, published articles, book chapters, and books, and received the runner-up prize in the 3rd José Luis Sampedro Award at the 12th World Economics Meeting (SEM) in 2010.
In the 2021–2022 academic year, she joined the Department of Economic Structure and Development Economics at the UAM as a professor.
Her main lines of research revolve around economic analysis and labor economics, as evidenced by her numerous contributions to national and international conferences and publications. She is a member of the UAM’s SET-LASE research group on the Socioeconomics of Labor.
